PayBee vs Classy (GoFundMe Pro): Which Fundraising Platform Is Right for Your Nonprofit? (2026)
PayBee vs Classy (GoFundMe Pro): Which Fundraising Platform Is Right for Your Nonprofit? (2026)
GoFundMe is undoubtedly one of the largest platforms out there for crowdfunding. It has done a lot of good for people, so it’s not a surprise that there was plenty of excitement when GoFundMe Pro became official. But does that mean it’s going to be the right choice for your nonprofit? Popularity and longstanding backing don’t always mean it’s going to work out.
On the other side of things is PayBee, a newer platform in comparison, but one that offers transparent pricing and has been designed for nonprofits that want to host auctions and events. It’s the kind of platform that puts nonprofits first, but while it does some things better than GoFundMe Pro, that’s not the case for everything.
As an ongoing part of this important comparison series, we’ll be taking an honest and detailed look at both PayBee and GoFundMe Pro to ensure that you find the right fundraising platform for you, even if it’s not with us. After all, that’s part of wanting to help make a difference.
A Quick PayBee vs Classy (GoFundMe Pro) Comparison
As of September 2026, all information in this table is accurate and has been verified through both PayBee and GoFundMe Pro. The same goes for all information pertaining to GoFundMe Pro and PayBee throughout this article.
The reviews from Capterra can be found here for each platform:

What is PayBee?
PayBee is an all-in-one nonprofit platform that has been designed to ensure charitable organisations have access to affordable and transparent events. They are able to help with everything from galas to raffles thanks to their wide range of features and excellent support. They’re the kind of platform that was made for nonprofits of all sizes.
What is Classy (Now GoFundMe Pro)?
GoFundMe Pro is a nonprofit platform that was designed to help charitable causes raise money using the features and software from its acquisition of Classy. They have fantastic peer-to-peer fundraising and multi-channel campaign access with a strong focus on recurring giving. The platform is mostly designed for larger nonprofits that need more and spend more.
How Does the Pricing and Transparency Compare?
So, the pricing was very interesting to us when we were doing research. GoFundMe Pro doesn’t have publicly available pricing, and the quotes can vary quite a lot depending on the type of nonprofit you have, the size, and the features that you need. Before we get further into it, here is a quick pricing table to give you an idea of the differences.
Note: All prices and information listed here are accurate as of September 2026 and were gathered from the platform websites or through quote requests.
We got a quote to see how much it would cost for smaller and larger nonprofits, and we were quoted from £299 per month to $1,500. This was based on the size of the organisations in question and how detailed we wanted the service to be. The higher fee included things like Ticketing, Salesforce integration, and custom branding.
But the part that was the most confusing was the processing fees. The GoFundMe website initially states that card transactions are charged 2.4% + $0.30 in processing fees, with AMEX incurring an additional 1%. However, another part of the platform shows this fee to actually be up to 2.5% + $0.30, with the same 1% addition for AMEX.
While it is a very small difference, it is still an important one to note because nonprofits deserve total transparency with pricing. We did bring it up in our quote request multiple times, but it was never addressed. Since the platform fees are already a little on the high side, you want to make sure you are clear on how much you are being charged for processing.
PayBee is very different because while there is a free option, you also have a premium membership that costs $599 for two years and has a flat 2% platform fee. Everything is mentioned on the pricing page and is completely transparent from the beginning. There is no subscription, no contract for you to abide by, and no hidden fees.
With GoFundMe Pro, you have an annual subscription, platform fees that are higher at 3%, and processing fees that do seem to vary according to their website. Their pricing page is a contact form so that you can request a quote, but they do at least have optional donor tips to cover fees (a feature that PayBee also offers).
Comparing the Features from Classy and PayBee
This is the main event, and while the pricing is quite a decisive part of the process, knowing which core features are offered by each platform is just as important. Below, you will find a detailed breakdown of what PayBee offers, what GoFundMe Pro has up its sleeve, and some of the essential things that they share, such as their hybrid event capabilities.
This one is more interesting as they share almost all of their core features. The primary difference is that PayBee offers text-to-give, and GoFundMe Pro can only provide it through a third party. So, this section has been broken down into which features each platform does best and those that it shares equally. As always, more details for these tools are on their websites.
GoFundMe Pro’s Stronger Features:
- Peer-to-peer fundraising. This is something that Classy just does better because they have the backing of GoFundMe and the experience that comes with it. Peer-to-peer fundraising means that other people can customise their own pages to help raise money for another cause, much like a sponsored marathon or cycling race.
- CRM/Salesforce. While GoFundMe Pro isn’t a full CRM, they have a fantastic grasp of it and offer excellent donor management. Their native Salesforce integration also gives them an edge because everyone is always connected and donor information is stored quickly to make it more accessible.
- Recurring giving. This allows donors to set up monthly donations or give regular amounts to the causes they care about. It’s something that the original GoFundMe platform cared about deeply, and with Classy’s acquisition, they have really brought the concept to life. They even have custom schedules so that you can tailor it down to the individual donor.
- Crowdfunding. Since GoFundMe was founded on the concept of crowdfunding, it’s no surprise that their nonprofit platform is just as focused on it. They bring people together, which is what crowdfunding is all about since the aim is to raise small amounts from many people.
- Reporting. When compared to Classy, PayBee excels at reporting. The analytics are much more detailed, and the real-time information can help you keep track of what is happening at your event while also showing you what you can learn from when it’s over. It’s a great way to improve your fundraising efforts in a bid to keep bringing in more for your cause.
- Mobile bidding. While PayBee uses browser-based bidding, it is seamless and easy to use so that anyone can join without having to worry about complicated downloads or figuring out how to make the app work.
- Text-to-give. This is such an important part of fundraising because it gives donors a chance to send money to your organisation through a short text message. That means that if they can’t participate in a fundraising event or don’t want to, they still have the opportunity to donate and help the cause.
- Fund-a-need. If you want to raise money for a specific cause or need, this is a great way to do it. This form of fundraising doesn’t come with a reward for the donors, but it does mean that a worthy cause or urgent plea can be funded properly.
Essential Shared Features:
- Virtual/hybrid and livestream. This allows nonprofits to have live and online events combined into a hybrid one, expanding their reach and making fundraisers more accessible. Livestreaming is a common part of this so that guests can watch and take part in the event from their homes. Both platforms do this very well, and PayBee was designed for it.
- Events & auctions. Both platforms have these, and they do them well, but PayBee offers better value for money as it has a more transparent pricing plan, and it was designed to be an all-in-one platform that is centred around events and auctions. GoFundMe Pro has more strengths in crowdfunding, especially when compared to the event experience PayBee has.
- Donation pages. These are very simple, and it’s a feature that allows donors to give money to a cause without the need to navigate through various menus. It makes donation gifts much easier to give. They can be customised, although these options are slightly more in-depth when you use GoFundMe Pro.
- Check-in. Knowing who has shown up to your event, when, and if they have everything they need is incredibly important when you are running fundraisers. Check-in features are available through both platforms to help you keep track of your donors and even see how much they are participating or contributing.
Both platforms are excellent at events and auctions, but it is also fairly clear that PayBee has more strength in that sector, whereas GoFundMe Pro is more centred around peer-to-peer fundraising and crowdfunding. Similarly, GoFundMe Pro has better CRM integration, but PayBee is superior in terms of reporting. It all comes down to balancing what you need.
What is Setup Like and is it Easy to Use?
PayBee has a fairly straightforward setup that makes it user-friendly. All you need to do is sign up for the platform, provide your EIN, and then choose a handle for yourself. After you have verified your details and confirmed the bank account associated with your nonprofit, you can choose a membership plan and get started with the platform.
Reviews have also backed up the excellent customer support from PayBee, which includes help if users get stuck while starting up as well as event-night support that ensures any technical issues or questions are resolved quickly. PayBee also has a phone, email, and contact form listed on their website to ensure it’s possible to get in touch with them quickly.
GoFundMe Pro has a similar system for setting up where you sign up with the website, provide your EIN and bank details, and then verify your account before getting to grips with how the platform works. But there are reviews on Capterra that note it can be a long learning curve that easily takes weeks because of the complexity of the platform.
Additionally, the contact page only consists of an online form, and there is no email listed and no phone support available. This is something that many users have found frustrating, as there are issues that can’t be resolved quickly without phone support. However, there is a live chat option which has been praised for being speedy and efficient, earning it equal quality to PayBee.
Which Platform is Best for What?
They are both excellent platforms; there is no doubt about that, but if you haven’t figured out which one is going to be best for you yet, this might help you out. If you are looking for the following, then GoFundMePro (formerly Classy) is going to be your best bet:
- Enterprise peer-to-peer fundraising
- Support for large nonprofits
- Salesforce integrations
- Highly branded campaign pages
- GoFundMe intelligence and optimisation tools
- Scale and backing as part of GoFundMe
But if you are thinking about the following for your nonprofit, then PayBee will be the better choice for you:
- Transparent and low-commitment pricing
- Expertise in events and auctions
- Simple launching and efficiency
- Improved reporting capabilities
- Event night support and renowned customer support
- Tap-to-pay and text-to-give capabilities
It really comes down to what your organisation needs. If you’re a large nonprofit, then GoFundMe Pro might be more suited to you, the same way that if CRM and in-depth Salesforce integrations matter the most, then it’s going to be the easy choice. It has a lot of backing from GoFundMe, but that doesn’t change the lack of transparency with regard to the price.
PayBee was designed with small and medium nonprofits in mind, which is why its support is tailored to those needs. While it is suitable for any organisation, it really puts a lot of focus on events and silent auctions, and the hybrid event capabilities are a strong selling point. It might not be as experienced with crowdfunding and recurring giving, but it still has those features.
Where Classy/GoFundMe Pro is the Better Choice
The most important part of this comparison is the honesty side of things, and there are areas where GoFundMe Pro is the clear winner. They have exceptional Salesforce integration that rivals most other platforms, which means their CRM is above average despite not being a dedicated CRM. It makes donor management much smoother and easier.
They also have better branding capabilities, and they go hard with it, alongside the backing from their parent company GoFundMe, which has changed millions of lives. Their recurring giving is superior, as is their crowdfunding, because that’s what they have always centred on, and it’s at the core of their mission as a nonprofit platform.
Enterprise peer-to-peer fundraising and multi-channel campaigns bring things up a notch, and you have the benefit of GoFundMe intelligence tools to help make the most of your events. Their entire integration catalogue is extensive, which makes sense considering their reputation, and it means you have access to more programs than most.
How to Switch from Classy to PayBee
The migration process has to be done manually, which is a given since they are completely separate platforms, but it’s not a difficult thing to do. You will need to wait until your contract with GoFundMe Pro comes to an end before you move so that you don’t end up wasting money, but beginning the process right before the cancellation will make life a lot easier.
PayBee has no contract lock-in, which means you retain ownership of all of your donor information, items, and anything else associated with your nonprofit. Thankfully, GoFundMe Pro uses the same model, which means you will not be charged for exporting your files, and you get to keep ownership of them at all times. It’s something more fundraising software should do.
Once you have exported the files from GoFundMe Pro, it is as simple as uploading the CSVs to PayBee (which allows for bulk uploads) and making sure your account is properly established and in order. From there, you can organise your item and donation lists so that you’re ready for your next event.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Classy the Same as GoFundMe Pro?
Yes, Classy and GoFundMe Pro are the same thing. In 2022, GoFundMe acquired Classy. However, it kept the original name for a few years while sorting out further integration before rebranding officially in 2025 and giving it the new name GoFundMe Pro. They have the same product lineage; the name has just been altered.
How Much Does Classy/GoFundMe Pro Cost?
GoFundMe Pro only gives its prices out through custom quotes. There is an annual subscription that you have to pay up-front in addition to the service fee and processing payments (which are 2.5% + $0.30 for cards). There is no public price list, and when we requested a quote, we were given a price of $299 per month for the most basic plan.
Is PayBee or Classy Cheaper?
PayBee offers a flat fee of 2%, which is made public, and there is no subscription or contract required to use the platform. For most small and medium organisations, this is the cheaper and simpler option. Classy has an annual pricing system, and it is quote-based, which means it is suited to larger nonprofits. Additionally, their prices are not made public.
Does Classy Do Auctions?
GoFundMe Pro does offer native silent and live auctions, fund-a-need, and mobile bidding since it acquired Classy and made it part of the GoFundMe platform. PayBee offers the same system, purpose-built for nonprofits, but with a transparent flat fee and set prices that don’t shift according to what kind of organisation you have.
What's the Best Classy Alternative for Small Nonprofits?
PayBee is the best alternative to Classy because it’s purpose-built for nonprofit events and also features transparent, low-commitment pricing that appeals to every nonprofit. But there are equally fantastic options out there such as Zeffy, Handbid, Donorbox, and Givebutter that can offer plenty of support with events and donor management.
Can I Switch From Classy to PayBee?
Yes, you can switch from Classy to PayBee fairly easily. There is no contract lock-in with PayBee, which means it’s simple and quick to import your items, campaigns, and guests. The best time to switch is around the time your GoFundMe Pro subscription is about to renew so that you can make the transition as seamlessly as possible.
